Do You Love Me Now?
Photograph by David Pearson
I was shooting wading birds and was looking at a dark Tri-Colored Heron in the shade on the shore of a muddy pond when a flash of light caught my eye. I looked up just in time to see a Great Egret land on a branch and start a courtship display. The lighting conditions had totally reversed and I had only a couple seconds to get the shot. I got a quick burst of 5 as the bird was turning. This was the only one with a good position and capturing the light. You have to be prepared for anything.
