Making arcs in the high desert
Photograph by Jake Stern
The Eastern Sierra is a land of stark contrast. 14,000-foot peaks tower over a dry desert floor. The backcountry skiing in this range is endless. This May provided a spectacular snowpack for spring skiing, drawing lines in the snow above the Long Valley.
