Queen

In March 2024, I finally met Queen, a legendary great hammerhead known to visit the waters around Bimini. On the boat ride to the dive site, estimates of her length ranged from 14 to 17 feet, depending on which guide was telling her story. Whatever her exact size, she was enormous—and she graced us with her presence for several hours.
Throughout the encounter, the mood among the divers was one of wonder and excitement. We watched her glide past, trying to capture images that would do this magnificent shark justice.
I especially like this shot because the diver in the background provides a sense of scale, helping viewers appreciate just how large Queen is.
