Coral Cove Storm
Photograph by Dawn Jones
Coral Cove on Jupiter Island Florida is one of my favorite places to shoot especially in December. Storms that arrive in the Winter season offer a continually changing landscape. What I love about seascapes is that you can shoot the same location over and over again and get completely different looking shots with a little help from Mother Nature. The changing tides and sky color palettes continually change the landscape allowing different photographic opportunities from one week to the next. On this day in December 2022, there was a storm brewing out at sea and the shifting sands and waves covered a lot of the beach corals. I was fortunate to get a shot of a section of corals in-between shore breaks. The foreboding sky provided the mood and the rough sea gave needed movement to the shot. What a morning!
